By purchasing access or using the service, you agree to these terms.
2. The Service
AML Checker provides automated OSINT-based AML risk screening and SAR drafting assistance to compliance professionals. The service delivers:
- AML Scan: A structured risk band (LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH) and compliance narrative based on live web searches across 9 signal profiles.
- AML + SAR Report: The above plus document OCR, risk factor extraction, and a structured SAR narrative suitable for review prior to NCA submission.
3. What the Service Is Not
This is the most important section of these terms. Read it carefully.
AML Checker is a decision-support tool. It is not:
- A regulated compliance service
- A substitute for a licenced AML compliance officer or MLRO
- A screening database - it does not cross-reference closed government watchlists in real time. It searches publicly indexed sources.
- A legal adviser
- A substitute for your firm's own AML policies and procedures under MLR 2017
AML Checker does not file SARs on your behalf. SAR outputs are drafts only. Filing a SAR with the National Crime Agency remains the sole responsibility of your firm's MLRO or nominated officer.
No output from AML Checker constitutes legal advice, regulated advice, or a compliance determination.
4. Eligibility and Permitted Use
By using AML Checker, you confirm that:
- You are using the tool in a professional capacity as part of a compliance, legal, financial, or due diligence workflow
- You have the authority to submit the names and documents you provide
- Where you submit personal data about third parties (e.g. a client's passport), you have a lawful basis to do so under UK GDPR
- You will not use the service to screen individuals for purposes unrelated to legitimate AML, KYC, or due diligence obligations
- You are not using the service to circumvent any applicable law or regulatory requirement
5. Access Tokens and Credits
- Access tokens are issued upon payment and are non-transferable
- Credits are non-refundable once a scan has been initiated
- Unused credits do not expire
- Tokens are stored in your browser's local storage - Parrot Systems Ltd is not responsible for loss of access resulting from browser data being cleared
- If a scan fails due to a technical error on our side before results are returned, we will restore the credit upon request to hello@aml.business
6. Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. By purchasing access you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. All prices are in GBP and inclusive of any applicable VAT. We do not store your payment card details.
7. Accuracy and Reliability
AML Checker returns results based on publicly indexed web sources at the time of the search. We make no warranty that results are:
- Complete or exhaustive
- Free from false positives or false negatives
- Current - publication dates on search results are not always returned by the underlying API
- Suitable as a sole basis for any compliance decision
Scan quality varies depending on the uniqueness of the name searched. Common or ambiguous names will produce lower signal quality and a higher rate of irrelevant results.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Parrot Systems Ltd provides AML Checker on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind
- Parrot Systems Ltd shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of or reliance on any output from the service
- Parrot Systems Ltd's total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the credits used in the scan(s) giving rise to the claim
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law
9. Intellectual Property
All software, scoring methodology, system prompts, and interface design comprising AML Checker are the intellectual property of Parrot Systems Ltd. You may not reverse-engineer, copy, resell, or redistribute the service or its outputs for commercial purposes without written consent.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The current version will always be available at aml.business/terms.
